About the Doctors

Dr. Wilson, a native of the Pacific Northwest, received her undergraduate degree in psychology and science at the University of Oregon. She then attended Oregon Health Sciences University School of Dentistry, where she received her Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) degree, graduating with special recognition in pediatrics and pathology.

Dr. Wilson then went on to do her post-doctoral residency in pediatric dentistry at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. There she received extensive training with healthy/well patients and patients with specialized needs such as: cranial/genetic anomalies, hematology-oncology concerns, behavioral concerns (autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, etc.), and all aspects of sedation dentistry.

Dr. Wilson began practicing in Portland in 2000 and has been an active member of her community. She is known as a warm and devoted professional who strives to achieve outstanding care of her patients. She is deeply committed to giving back to her community by providing both dental and community services through programs  for our church, military, and underprivileged families.

She is an active member of several professional organizations, has held leadership positions in many, and is an adviser for a national dental liability insurance company.

Dr. Wilson is happily married to her husband, David Wilson, who also is dentist specializing in cosmetic, general, and sedation dentistry. They have two young children and enjoy travel, numerous outdoor activities, and community service.

 

Raised in Stayton, Oregon, Dr. Shawn graduated from Willamette University in 1994 with a B.A. in German and a focus on premedical studies.  She completed her dentistry degree at Oregon Health Sciences in 1999.

After graduation from dental school, Dr. Shawn worked in McAllen, Texas both in a private practice setting as well as in Public Health.  Here she worked with the underserved population while learning Spanish.  Dr. Shawn was appointed assistant professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where she taught dental students.

In 2006, Dr. Shawn and her family returned to Portland, Oregon, where she is delighted to work alongside Dr. Karole Wilson serving the needs of pediatric patients.  As a mother, "Dr. Jen" appreciates the important decisions parents must make in the care of their children's teeth.  She provides children with individualized care and choices to suit their specific needs. 

Dr. Shawn is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Oregon Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.  She also is a member of Delta Sigma Delta, where she serves as the Historian for the graduate chapter.  In her free time, she is an active volunteer with Medical Teams International. 

Dr. Jen is a devoted mother to a fourth grade daughter and a second grade son.  She strives to put your child first and to give your child the highest quality of care.  Dr. Shawn is committed to making your child's dental experience a postiive one.
